Trevor Robinson - May 2010

I just received your prize pack for my winning pic last week and was really impressed by the quantity and quality of them . We are heading off to the Cape in 2 weeks time now the roads have opened so you can be sure they will all get a good working out up there ! Many thanks for the great prizes and the very entertaining show on Wednesday nights .

Cheers Robbo.

Great show....firstly because of the locality!  The Kimberly's I believe is the last frontier of the Australian outback with its incredible scenery, camping, 4wd experiences and of course it’s great fishing ...just watch the tides!  Secondly the "natural” way you both present the show.... I can really relate to your experiences having done similar trips all over the Cape over the last 30 years and some into the Kimberly's and N.T. ....keep up the great work ! I will definitely get the series DVD when it's available!

Cheers Robbo.

G'Day Fellas, just caught you’re show for the first time on Foxtel. I really enjoyed the down to earth and no rubbish attitude that most fishing shows seem to do so badly. I have attached a photo of my brother and myself heading back in to the Cambridge Gulf after a day out at the false mouths catching a few Barra and Threadies. I really enjoyed you’re show on long reef as my brother has just come back form a trip out there for the first time. My father was running  a charter boat out to the Buccaneer Archipelago for six years back in the late 90's and I have done four trips out there with him and my brother and cant get enough of the place. My brother is still based in Wyndham and I get up there once a year for some R & R and Barra fishing.

Like I said really enjoyed the show and keep up the down to earth no bullshit show. Well done and half ya luck.

 Cheers Stuey.

Thought I'd better send this photo through. It was crazy that I caught it so close to shore, just off ocean reef marina in Perth. I went out in my 15ft trailcraft last week just to have a quick fish around 3 mile reef in 15-20m of water. While rigging up I decided to put a few lures out incase there were tuna or something about. Two minutes later both rods started screaming. As I was by myself I was only able to boat one of the fish. The fish was jumping like crazy. Still can't believe it, have to keep looking at the photo, I thought they only hung around the fads! Was an awesome day.

Hey I’ve been watching your shows over the last few weeks and I seen you had a few problems with your BF Goodrich tires. I had the same problem on my 100 series 4 brand new tires first trip blow the wall out of 2 of them I found the Cooper ATR's were the best with thicker wall. I’ve had Goodyear wranglers MTR's and the Coopers are the best out there.

Brian Murray Parkinson. QLD - April 2010

I Attached photos from Masthead Island just off Gladstone.  We spent 7 days on the island, fishing, swimming and wondering what everyone else was doing (not).  We landed many good sized fish which many ended being the next meal for all the families camping there.  The big Kingfish refused to chase the lures, bait or live bait but saw many jump out of the water.  This would be a great place for one of your trips.  Everyone arrived on the barge with a 44 gallon drum to refuel the boat, besides me and 2 others that motored over to island to clear the camp area.  This was my third boat in the photo, I purchased a forth boat before selling it and crewing a sail boat in Sydney.  That trip, the hands had many gill cuts and lucky a tinnie fixed into the hands.

Justin Barker - April 2010

you think barra fight hard? check out the size of the paddle tail on this yella in the photo I sent in. I caught him at Pindari Dam NSW, he took black down under bloody thing fought like a truck. sorry i have a bad habit of grabing a quick photo and putting the fish back in the water where they belong before i get any details of size and weight, so i dont have any measurements to give you.

Great show - keep it up

Justin

Craig Dimmock - April 2010

Hi guys thought you might like to see my fishing efforts over the Easter break. I managed to land 3 nice Flathead in my Kayak using soft plastics whilst fishing in Corlette bay. I also managed to land several Tailor that were chasing baitfish. I caught all the fish using my T curve rod and Diawa SOL reel 4lb braid and 10lb mono leader. I was using Squidgees with 2g jig heads.

Cheers, Craig.

Wayne Beattie Wyndhamvale Victoria - April 2010

HI guys,

This photo was my sons Jake's first fishing trip we were on the Murray at Barmah in Victoria when he caught this turtle on a bit of mozzarella cheese, I thought people were pulling my leg but I also caught a Murray cod on the same day using it as bait . Jake was eleven years old when he caught the turtle he is now 13 years old & we try to get up to the Murray as often as possible to do a bit of camping and fishing.

We both enjoy the show & the damper is awesome thanks for the recipe.

Cheers, Wayne

Terry Gay Tapping WA - April 2010

I sent in a photo that caused me some shame north of Perth in the plantation area, my brother asked if i would get through there alright, and in me saying "yep", i should of said i dont now. As the pic shows, that arvo, the beers were on me.
What had me stuffed was the fact that, after my brother pulled me out, i said to him, have a go, and his answer was "no thanks i dont want my car to get dirty", i thought that statement alone deserves a round of beers from him, but we got nothing, tipical Bravo driver.

The other photo was taken at a place called Black bull yard south of Darwin in the work truck.

The day started leaving Darwin and just after lunch we had hit the dirt, only about twenty km's down the track we found ourselves two feet deep on the passengers side, so we succesfully backed out of that, then proceeded over the high ground to the right, and as we got over the top the hole lot went down. With a lot of digging we finally gave up at 10 pm,as it started to rain territory style, we got out the next day around lunch, after more digging and pumping the water out of the wheel tracks.

Cheers, Terry

ps Love the show!

Hi Jase and Rodo

You've put together a great program. Very informative and your show beams the remote outdoors to the 'lounge lizard's through out the country.

As I live in Darwin I really enjoyed your segment on the Kimberly and I am going to fish that area after the wet season is over.
I recently visited a friend in Goolwa (Mal Brooks) and he suggested we should go for a day out on the water.Attached are photo's of the snapper I recently caught in the Backstairs Passage midway between Cape Jarvis and Kangaroo Island. We caught the specified bag quota in less than an hour and then found ourselves releasing fish continuously after this.

Regards, Vince

G’Day – we sent in a few of our fave 4x4 pics for your photo comp where we bogged at a crossing at Eyre Creek in the Simpson (ours is the disco) – our mate Mike (Patrol) bogged it even better, and after 4 hours trying to recover him, after even having to dump off his camper trailer…  you can image how much we just wanted out of that river! We try to get away for at least one decent adventure each year  the last five years have been…  Cape York, Central Aust, Simpson, Fraser Island, Kakadu.  With little trips in between – Vic High Country, Mungo etc.  Seeing that we live in Melbourne – and manage to take our own 4bee you can imagine the time we need to take for some of these trips.

This year(July) we’re doing the Simpson crossing again  - which, considering the 3-4 months it takes for the rains to get from FNQ down the Eyre & Coopers we might be taking a few of the bypass tracks!  Oh, happy days – all adds to the adventure.  But since we had so much fun when we crossed in 2007 we’re going back to have another shot!

Great Show – keep up the good work.

Jack

Matt 'cato' Caterson   Patterson Lakes Vic - March 2010

I sent in a photo of me on the happiest day of my life after finally making it from Melbourne to Fraiser Island, it might not seem like much to you guys but for me it was a lifelong dream to finally get there after so many years of bad thing happening in my life. I spent a week there camped with my wife and found it very hard to leave, explored the whole island and caught some nice fish. On the way back to Melbourne I blew fifth gear and had to be towed home! The cars all fixed now, so I’m hoping to get back on the open road again soon.

Love the show, keep up the great work.

Cheers, Cato.

Phil Dunne Frenchs Forest, NSW - March 2010

G Day johno and Roddo,

I attached a few photos for the photo comp of my adventures through east arhnem land including an epic drive from Gove to the high court in Darwin along the Arhnem Road. The drive was  in a mini bus crammed with Youngul warriors. The trip was an important ceremonial occasion for the Youngul and was an awesome adventure in one of the last great wilderness on earth. Hope you like the picks and I love the show!

Cheers, Phil

Brian Carter Albury NSW - March 2010

The photo I sent in for the comp was taken north of Hopevale Qld. We took the wrong road in an attempt to travel to the coloured sands.  Conditions got worse and due to stress, no further photo's were taken.  Myself, my son-in-law and a mate spent the day trying to turn this rig around.  This was done finally after a lot of digging and would not have been achieved if it was not for the winch.  After causing some damage to the caravan but we managed to return to Cooktown late in the evening for the night. We set off again next morning.

Kind Regards, Brian

Steve Gibbons NSW - March 2010

Hi guys, I hope you have a show on smashing kingies.
Giant GT’s , Meter Barras, killer Mangrove Jack and coral trout all make my mouth water.

But my newest fishing buddy (my daugter Ella aged 4) asks me to take her fishing almost every day.
Every day out is a big adventure at present and she sits on dads lap and watches your show with great interest.

I think the smile sums up her enthusiasm perfectly. Her new pink J Walker is getting a hammering and she’s just big enough to see into the water from our boat She manages to get the fish to boat and calls “ get the net” so I pray that we have many many adventures to share over the coming years.

Ed Cain - March 2010

Hey Guys, I sent in a photo showing what happens when the rear passenger side wheel comes off a Patrol at 80kmh on the Gibb River Road.

The missus and I were 1 ½ years into a 2 ½ year trip around Oz, were about 2 hours west of Home Valley Station on the Gibb River Road, when the Patrol gave a little wiggle, then another, then I noticed a large black wheel overtaking us on the inside....
I managed to keep it on the road, even with the Camper Trailer.  More ass than anything else.
Long story short, I managed to get a couple of spare studs into the wheel, and limp back to Home Valley Station.  Spent a couple of days there waiting for parts to be flown in, and all good.

A special thanks goes to Bridgestone Tyre and Auto Service in Darwin who performed a wheel balance and rotation about 1000km before this happened.  Never trust someone who changes tyres for a living.

Cheers, Ed

Ian (Blerto) Bellert Thornleigh NSW - 24 March 2010

Hey Fellas,

Love the show, what a hoot. I sent a pic of our camp beside the Darling River on Trilby Station western NSW. Heading back out there in July to see how much its flowing since this year’s rain. Can’t wait to see the thing flowing and see if I can spin up a few yellow belly.

Cooked an awesome pork shoulder in the camp oven that night and washed it down with shed-loads of red wine.  Who said you need white wine with white. Tasted bloody superb.

Love the show - bloody awesome!

Cheers, Blerto

Steve Simmons SA - March 2010

Hi Jase and Rodo,

I sent in a pic for ya! This was just last week taken on my boat which is a 5m twin hull markham dominator. The place is Wedge Island 20 nautical miles of the coast of SA, we had a perfect day with flat seas and bagged out on cray fish (8 total one was 4 kilo's), this is a real adventure with deep and dangerous waters in the heart of white pointer country, if you don't plan properly things can turn bad for you very quickly. Plan it well and what an awesome adventure and result. Shes a beach entry for the boat using the 4by and a great day was had by all.

Great show and good luck with it!

Regards, Steve
